ESAB vocational school Potsdam

ESAB Berufliche Schule Potsdam is a state-recognised private vocational school that integrates sport and physical activity into VET curricula. It trains sports instructors, health and fitness professionals and rehabilitation coaches, with roughly 200 students and 20 staff.

The school has been educating coaches and trainers for the Landessportbund Brandenburg for more than twenty years, which gives it a direct line into the regional sports sector and keeps its curriculum tied to what employers actually need. Its approach is hands-on: students learn to promote physical and mental well-being in the settings where they will work.

In NEXT-VET the school runs the German pilots. It has already experimented with exergaming and mental training to improve student engagement, so the interventions land in a place that knows what to do with them. It is part of Europäische Sportakademie Land Brandenburg gGmbH, which is the formal project partner.
